Fire Detection and Alarm System

There are two different types of fire detection and alarm systems, conventional type and addressable type. So we have two different types fire alarm controllers, conventional type and addressable type.

This type also called non addressable type. The detectors and manual call points are arranged in Zones to simplify location the cause of the alarm. For instance, if you have a conventional type system and the alarm goes off, it would tell you the alarm zone. Each zone is indicated at the fire alarm controller both with a text display and an indicator. It is better suited for smaller ships.

Each device comes with a separate and distinct address, which allows the controller to know their status, such as in alarm, in trouble or whether it’s functioning normally. When alarm, the controller will display the alarm specific location and the user can assess the situation much more quickly. It is used for bigger ships.

The fire alarm system is consisted of fire alarm controller, smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, etc.
